Vrijdag 7 oktober begonnen de festiviteiten voor de jongens; Voorafgaand aan een weekend Warratha Bay met vrienden stopten we voor thee in Bayview. Met Ellen, Bert en Tineke hebben we de eerste kaarsjes uitgeblazen, en terwijl Max van de taart genoot stortte Warrun zich op de cadeautjes.
Donderdag 13 oktober, de geboortedag van de jongens; 's Morgens met papa en mama de cadeautjes uitpakken. Speeltegels en een houten krokodil van ons, loopauto's en kleine schep/duwautotjes van 2 vriendjes van de parentgroup, en een grote doos met puzzels van Katie en Abby. Voor ieder een muziekkaart van opa en oma waar erg veel mee gedanst wordt! En uit het postpakket van Louise, Pim, Bart en Mark kwam lego en volgeschreven kaarten. En natuurlijk waren er een hele berg kaarten van (oud-) ooms en tantes. Branko kwam vroeg naar huis om met fietsen en al naar de fietsenwinkel te gaan voor het cadeau van de opa's en oma's: fietsstoeltjes! Het is iets anders uitgepakt, maar 1000x praktischer; een fiets-wandel-jog-kar, opvouwbaar en met extra opbergruimte voor (picknick?) spullen. De jongens moeten nog erg aan de verplichte helmpjes wennen.
Zaterdag 15 oktober nog een keer taart. Het was het een huis vol kinderen met ouders. De opgehangen ballonen maakten meer indruk dan de slingers die er sinds donderdag hingen.
Friday the 7th of October heralded the start of the festivities; Before a weekend away in Waratah Bay with friends, we stopped for tea at Bayview House. In the presence of Ellen, Bert and Christine the first candles have been blown out, and while Max was gulping away the cake, Warrun was attacking the presents.
Thursday the 13th of October, the boy's birthday; the morning started with the unwrapping of prezzies together with mom and dad. Play/build tiles and a wooden crocodile from us, walk-cars and some cars from friends in the parentgroup, a large box with puzzles from Katie, Abby and family. For each of the boys a musical card from grandpa and grandma which is still being used a lot for dancing! The parcel from Louise, Pim, Bart and Mark contained lego and cards. And finally off course there were a lot of cards from (great) uncles and aunties.
Branko came home early so that we could all go to the bike shop with our bikes to the bike shop for the gift from the grandparents: bike baby-seats! It didn't quite turn out the way we expected but it is 1000 time more practical; a bike-jogging-push-cart 'crouzer', foldable and with extra storage for (picknick?) gear. The boys had some trouble getting used to the compulsory bike helmets.
Saturday the 15th of October once again pie-time! We had a house full of kids with their parents. The balloons we put up for decoration seemed to be more impressive than the paper festoons that had been hanging up since Thursday. |
